Technical Artist XR at MediaMonks HILV

Working closely with the XR Creative and Art teams, the Technical Artist helps us define a visual direction that matches the creative vision and the tech requirements of our XR productions for mobile AR (ARKit, ARCore, WebAR), mobile VR (cardboard and Quest), and PCVR.

As the bridge between Art and Tech, the Technical Artist has the eye of a designer combined with the technical knowledge of a developer, and is fluent communicating both the abstract and the technical to everyone in the team.

Comfortable in Maya and Unity, the Technical Artist can work with 3D models (modelling, texturing, rigging), shaders, particles and lighting to craft real time art demos during pre-production, and define an art pipeline for production establishing best practices, formats and guidelines for artists to commit to devs, and for devs to implement.

The biggest challenge that our Technical Artist will help us overcome is finding the right balance between high production values vs performance and technical limitations of the platforms we develop for, and keep an overview of the creation and implementation of all art assets.

In a tech landscape that is constantly evolving our Technical Artist is style and tech agnostic, and can proactively figure out how to solve things for the first time ever.
