Mastercard: Impossible Mascots

As the official sponsor of the Brazilian national football team, Mastercard wanted to leverage its support to fulfil a priceless experience for young cancer patients: being a match mascot. Working for WMcCann, we built telepresence robots representing two hospitalised boys entering the pitch alongside their idols. Remotely controlled, the child-sized robots featured a display and camera that allowed the kids to experience the atmosphere and interact with players as they moved towards the lineup. To prevent interference from mobile, radio and TV transmitters, the robots were equipped with custom streaming software, ensuring the kid’s experience would be seamless and priceless.
